Documenting Learning

To engage in the self-assessment process of their maker activities, I ask learners to document their learning.

We need to integrate documenting practices as part of making activities as well as designing, tinkering, digital fabrication, and programming in order to enable students to document their own learning process and experiment with the beauty of building shared knowledge. Documentation is a hard task even for adults, but it is not so hard if you design a reason and a consistent expectation that everyone will collect and organize the things they will share. ( Documenting a Project Using a “Failures Box” by Susanna Tesconi in Clearance Outlet Locations Cheap Sast Statement Clutch Dancing Roses by VIDA VIDA Outlet Get To Buy SVTcCrK31H
)

Documenting their learning can include one or a combination of the following methods:

(For more information, see Documenting Learning https://usergeneratededucation.wordpress.com/2016/04/08/documenting-learning/ )

The folks at Digital Promise have the following message for maker educators regarding documentation:

Make the documentation an organic and expected part of the process. When documentation feels like it is added without reason, students struggle to engage with the documentation process. Help students consider how in-process documentation and reflection can help them adapt and improve the project they are working on. Help them see the value of taking time to stop and think.( Clearance Purchase Release Dates Authentic Foldaway Tote etno5 by VIDA VIDA 2018 Cool KQ72UZgJ6

Documenting learning during the making process serves several purposes related to assessment:

Maker Project Reflections

Because many students haven’t had the experience of reflection and self-assessment, I ease them into this process. With my gifted students, I ask them to blog their reflections after almost all of their maker education activities. They take pictures of their makes, and I ask them to discuss what they thought they did especially well, and what they would do differently in a similar future make. Here are some examples:

Teacher and Peer Feedback

The learners’ peers and their educators can view their products, documented learning, and reflections in order to provide additional feedback. A culture of learning is established within the maker education community in that teacher and peer feedback is offered and accepted on an ongoing basis. With this type of openness and transparency of the learning process, this feedback not only benefits that individual student but also the other students as they learn from that student what worked and didn’t work which in turn can help them with their own makes.

The Use of Assessment Rubrics

As a final thought, there has been some thoughts and efforts into using rubrics as assessment tools. Here is one developed by Lisa Yokana and discussed in Statement Clutch Seaside Statement Clutch by VIDA VIDA Clearance Discounts Outlet Store Locations 100% Original xNISZ

With his first Gigafactory in Nevada slated to go live within the year, Musk is eyeing to use almost a fifth of the world’s lithium stores to create batteries for his vehicles in that location alone.Tesla has enough for 2017, but 2018 supplies are up in the air. With that said, Tesla, along with other manufacturers, are going to need swells of lithium to fuel their EV projects.

Government mandates are leading the rush to lithium

New green mandates worldwide are also huge contributors to this boom. California legislators have placed big money behind low-emission subsidies with aims to hit zero emissions by 2025. Many European countries are trying to phase out diesel vehicles by 2040. The Netherlands proposed legislation to ban petrol and diesel vehicles by 2025. Across the world, governments are pressuring citizens and manufacturers to change their tune from roaring engines to stealth-quiet EVs. All of this is fostering the growing need for lithium.

Call-outs for each country mentioned:

Let’s put the requirements for lithium in perspective:

A typical cell phone uses 5-7 grams of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) in its battery. A TSLA model S with a 70kWh battery uses 63 kilograms – an equivalent content of more than 10,000 cell phones.

With pushes for EVs, the need for lithium will continue to increase exponentially. The next step is to wrangle up the lithium to meet this demand.

Historically, lithium, or “white petroleum,” has been mined by three major companies: Sociedad Química y Minera ( SQM ); Albemarle Corporation ( ALB ); and FMC Corporation ( FMC ). In the past two years, these major players have shown massive increases in stock prices.

SQM [NYSE: SQM], FMC Lithium [NYSE: FMC] Albemarle Corporation [NYSE: ALB]

With demand reaching extraordinary highs, the three-company oligopoly will struggle to keep up. Junior mining companies are integral to closing the gap between supply and demand, and have huge financial potential.

Johnson's case was championed last week by reality TV personality Kim Kardashian West , who met with Mr. Trump at the White House about sentencing and prison reform.

In videos posted to Twitter by CBS affiliate WCBI-TV's Quentin Smith , Johnson is greeted by dozens of family members who see her for the first time since she was freed. She was given a bouquet of flowers too.

Alice Marie Johnson is emotional and greeted by dozens of family members as they see her for the first time since she’s been free. Johnson says she’s thankful for this second chance and is ready to get back home and spend time with her family

In video footage from the scene, Johnson said, "I want to thank Donald John Trump," with cheers and screams in the background as she wiped away tears.

"He gave me another chance in life and restoring me to my family," Johnson added. "I want to thank Kim Kardashian West ... thank you Kim ... I'm free to live life and free to start over ... I have a lot of catching up to do with my family ... I can't wait to get back on the workforce ... and get back to my community."

"She has truly been relentless in her fight for me," Johnson said of Kardashian West. "To know a woman who has never met me ... who has embraced my story and taken me into her heart ... this is not just a publicity thing for her. Kim told me when she left that White House meeting that no matter how this turns out ... she would never stop fighting for me."

It was Kardashian West who got to break the news of the commuted sentence to Johnson. One of Johnson's lawyers, Brittany Barnett said that Kardashian West joined a phone call with Johnson and her legal team. Kardashian West then tweeted, "The phone call I just had with Alice will forever be one of my best memories. Telling her for the first time and hearing her screams while crying together is a moment I will never forget."

The phone call I just had with Alice will forever be one of my best memories. Telling her for the first time and hearing her screams while crying together is a moment I will never forget.

Kardashian West became interested in Johnson after she saw a Mic interview about her case. She said she "was not only moved to tears, but moved to action."

In a statement Wednesday from Kardashian West, she thanked Mr. Trump, Jared Kushner and "everyone who has showed compassion and contributed countless hours to this important moment" for Johnson.

"Her pardon ... is inspirational and gives hope to so many others who are also deserving of a second chance," Kardashian West said. "I hope to continue this important work by working together with organizations who have been fighting this fight for much longer than I have and deserve the recognition."

Johnson was convicted in 1996 for "leading a multi-million-dollar drug ring that dealt in tons of cocaine from 1991-1994," according to Outlet Store Double T mini crossbody bag Black Tods Wide Range Of Cheap Outlet Locations nVrq53
